Our Story
The Proper Pup was created with a simple idea: couples shouldn’t have to choose between their wedding day and their dog.
With years of experience in dog care, training, and handling, we recognized the need for a service that allows pets to be included in weddings safely and comfortably. Weddings can be busy, emotional, and fast-paced — and dogs need a calm, experienced presence to guide them through it.
Our goal is to provide a professional wedding dog concierge service that ensures both you and your dog can fully enjoy the day.
Meet Trichia Phillips
Hi, I’m Trichia — founder of The Proper Pup.
Originally from England and proudly based in the United States since 2000, my life has always been centered around animals, especially dogs. As a professional dog sitter, certified dog trainer, and board member of Georgia Dog Advocates, I’ve dedicated my career to building trust, understanding behavior, and creating positive experiences for every dog in my care.
I created The Proper Pup because I truly believe dogs deserve to be part of life’s most important moments. My approach combines professional expertise with genuine care — ensuring every pup feels safe, calm, and loved throughout your wedding day.

Lisa Pelletier
With over 35 years of experience working with dogs, I bring a calm, steady, and reliable presence to every wedding.
My background in law enforcement has shaped my ability to stay attentive, patient, and highly aware — especially in fast-paced environments like weddings. I’m skilled at reading dog behavior, responding quickly to their needs, and creating a structured yet comforting environment where they can feel secure.
As the founder of Georgia Dog Advocates, I am deeply committed to the well-being and protection of dogs. At home, I care for four dogs of my own, and I treat every dog we work with as if they were part of my family.
Stephen Phillips
Meet the backup staff, or as we call him the owners favorite husband – Stephen Phillips
Proudly serving in the US Army for over 8 years, I bring structure, commitment and strength to The Proper Pup. I have always had a dog in my family, from age 5 until now and I’ve always believe pets are like family and they should be included in special events as such.
Having rescued, fostered and of course adopted too many dogs to list, I bring a wealth of knowledge in the handling, care and the needs of your precious family member. I especially love the larger breeds, the bigger the better but will also happily cuddle with your chihuahua if necessary.
